For a major Financial Institution CORED has provided services for modelling the ITIL process Contingency Planning and securing its activities in the daily business.

This project was conducted for two IT-departments responsible for managing all corporate networks and corporate midrange systems. Securing of the Contingency Planning process was conducted via individual projects for each department. The project also included a controlled and successful transition to the new millennium.

Project activities:

• Set up of an organisational structure for maintaining the disaster recoverability of each department¹s critical services.
• Perform tests to prove the disaster recoverability by delivery of the services switched between different systems and computer centres.
• Implementation of test results and follow-up actions on both a technical and organisational level to further improve the disaster recoverability of the services.
• Ensure that regular testing to validate the disaster recovery of services becomes common practice within the departments.
